Heart Attack on a Plate

French Donuts

½ cup butter
1 cup water
1 cup sifted flour
4 eggs

Preheat your deep fryer to 365 degrees. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil then add the butter. Add the flour and beat it until the mixture becomes thick and pulls from the sides of the pan. Remove from heat then add one egg at a time, beating thoroughly between each one. Beat it until the glaze disappears.

To cook them, add the batter to your Popeil donut maker and squeeze off as many as will fit in your deep fryer. After 3 to 5 minutes or so, they will be golden brown on one side, that is when you should gently flip them over to continue cooking. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve warm. (You might want to sprinkle some powdered sugar on these.)
