Heart Attack on a Plate

Vanilla Donuts

2 ¼ cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
¼ tsp. nutmeg
1 tbs shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
¾ cup milk

Preheat your deep fryer to 365 degrees. Sift all of the dry ingredients 2 or 3 times together in a large bowl. Add the shortening followed by the eggs, vanilla, and milk. Mix everything for about half a minute, you don't need to beat it to death. Scoop some into your Popeil donut maker and squeeze some off into the oil. After 3 to 5 minutes or so, they will be golden brown on one side, that is when you should gently flip them over to continue cooking. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
